Mark Sholl has been the director of orchestras at Hilliard Davidson High School and Music Coordinator for the Hilliard City Schools for the past sixteen years. His responsibilities include conducting three orchestras at Davidson High School and overseeing the music budget and staffing for 13 elementary schools, two 6th grade schools, three middle schools and three high schools. Mr. Sholl is also the past President of the Ohio Orchestra and String Teachers Association. He currently serves on the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra Board and is their Education Committee Chair. Mr. Sholl is the music director of the Columbus Symphony Cadet Orchestra, one of four levels of youth orchestras associated with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Prior to his tenure with the Hilliard Schools, Mr. Sholl was the Orchestra and Assistant Band Director at Grove City High School for six years, where he won the National Sallie Mae Teaching Award. Mr. Sholl has also conducted numerous ensembles at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan. He has studied at The Peabody Conservatory, The University of Michigan, where he received a Bachelor of Music, and The Ohio State University from which he received his Master of Arts. He is currently a doctoral student in The Ohio State University School of Education Policy and Leadership. His focus of study is on studying the effectiveness of arts organization's educational outreach.
